Speech for English Festival 2010

Good morning, dear teachers and students!

老师们，同学们： 早上好！

 

   With the pace of Christmas, our English festival is beginning again. The English festival is the best chance for us to show our English talents and abilities. It’s also a time for the teachers to harvest joy and surprise. Nowadays, we are living in an open society with globalized economy and cultures. English is used more and more widely in the daily life, and it will be one of the most important assistants in our working and studying in the future. Therefore, I hope you will learn English hard and make yourself an international citizen!

 

    伴随着圣诞节的脚步，我们的英语周开幕了。英语节为同学们提供了一个展示才华的好机会，也是老师们收获喜悦的日子。如今我们生活在一个经济、文化全球化的开放社会中,英语在我们的日常生活中越来越被广泛使用，它也将会是我们今后生活和学习中重要的工具之一。所以，我希望你们都能努力学好英语，做国际公民！

 

The English Festival has been our carnival of English learning. Since the first English festival in 2008, we have had more interests in learning English as well as gain more confidence. Your wonderful singing, dancing, performing, smiling and laughing in the Christmas party are still echoing in my mind!  I firmly believe the English Festival this year will be more fascinating!

 

     英语节已经成为我们英语学习的狂欢节，英语节活动的开展，使我们对英语学习更有兴趣和信心。在08年圣诞英语活动中，你们精彩的歌唱、舞蹈、表演以及你们的欢声笑语依然回荡在我的脑海中！我坚信，本届英语节会更加精彩！

 

     Everyone will be welcome to join in our English Festival. The theme of the festival this year is "Be an English talent" and the slogan is "I learn, I enjoy, I improve!" Now let me tell about the English activities this year. The Grade Six students make the Christmas cards with their best wishes. The Grade Seven students hold an English Drama Competition to show their all-round English abilities. With their beautiful voices, the Grade Eight students have an English singing contest and they"ll also show their nice English stories to the school. The Grade Nine students have a writing contest to improve their writing abilities. Besides, on Chirstmas Eve, we will hold a party to celebrate the Western festival and experience a different culture. You can display your English talents on this stage.

 

     欢迎大家都加入到英语节中来。此次英语周的主题是：“争做英语达人”。口号是：“我学习，我快乐，我进步！”现在让我来介绍一下各项活动。预备年级将进行一个英语贺卡竞赛来表达他们对新年美好的祝福；初一年级举行英语短剧比赛，以显示他们全方位的英语才能；初二年级的学生们用他们优美无比的嗓音开展英语歌曲清唱比赛，他们还要将他们自己创编的英语故事向全校展示；初三年级开展现在作文比赛来提高他们的英语写作能力。此外在本周五，也就是圣诞夜，我们将举行英语节目汇演来体验并庆祝这个西方的节日。在这个舞台上，同学们将尽情地展示你们的英语才能。

 

    Sound attractive and wonderful? So let’s all join in and have fun! Let’s boldly speak English and display our colorful school life! Let"s try to be the English talent in our school!

听起来真的很精彩是吗？让我们齐参与，共欢乐！大胆的说英语，说出我们丰富多彩的学校生活！让我一起争做“英语达人”！

   

    Lastly, Let"s speak out the slogan of this English festival.

    最后，让我们一起大叫英语节的口号: “I learn, I enjoy, I improve!”
